APC congresses: No petition before us yet, says Ekiti appeal panel

Former Oyo State Deputy Governor and Chairman of the Ekiti State Ward Congresses Committee of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Iyiola Oladokun, has said the committee was yet to receive any petition from party members.

Oladokun said this at a press conference in Ado Ekiti, on Monday. He also said the five-member panel was only mandated to listen to complaints that might have come from the APC ward congresses which were held in the state on July 31.

He spoke during the panel’s maiden meeting with party stakeholders in the state. He also said, “We are here to listen and send recommendations to the national headquarters.

“We are not here for sharing positions; our mandate is to listen to complaints. We can only make recommendations based on what we can gather from both the aggrieved and winners.

“We are not here to apportion blame or share positions. We are here to listen dispassionately to issues and make recommendations.

“So far, we have yet to receive any petition. We expect that petitions will start coming in from today, tomorrow. We will be in Ekiti State until we can treat the petitions received. Our party members should restrict their petitions to complaints on what happened during the ward congresses.” PUNCH
