Despite Growth In Population, Oil, Gas Can’t Be Replaced – Ghais

The Secretary General, Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), His Excellency Haitham Al Ghais, has said that oil and gas can’t never be replaced with any source of energy.

Ghais made this know when responding to questions from Journalist on Wednesday in Abuja Nigeria Capital.

According to Ghais, “Oil will also remain the foundamental corner stone in supplying the world with all energy requirements.

“To put things into context, since we are in Nigeria and in Abuja to be specific, there has been estimated around that by 2030, actually 60 years today there will be 600 millions around the world moving into new cities.

He said considering the population of Abuja about four millions people, that means 150 new Abujas will be created from now till 2030.

However, Ghais stressed that despite series of energy that can be apply, but oil will still remain the major source of energy around the world due to it’s demand to march up with the growth in population world over .
