The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Femi Gbajabiamila has described the member representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo federal constituency of Osun state in the National Assembly, Representative Bamidele Salam as a cerebral, resourceful and development oriented lawmaker whose impact in the House can not be overlooked.
Gbajabiamila stated this in his remarks at a brief cake-cutting ceremony to mark Salams birthday in Abuja.
This was contained in a statement issued by Lubem Gena
Legislative Aide and Media Assistant to Rep. Bamidele Salam on Tuesday in Abuja.
He said, the Speaker who visited Salam’s office in company of other leaders of the House said even though he only met the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Pensions about a year ago, it often appears as if they had known each other for decades in view of Salam’s loyalty to the leadership of the House and meaningful contributions to National issues.
Gbajabiamila said even when anyone had reason to disagree with some of Salam’s radical views, no one can ignore the intellectual depth and patriotism with which the Osun lawmaker addresses issues in his contributions in plenary.
He prayed that God upholds the celebrant in good health and sound mind to contribute more to the progress of his constituency in particular and Nigeria in general.
Also speaking in the same vein, the Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rep. Toby Okechukwu described Salam as a vibrant and friendly legislator who has earned the respect of his colleagues in the National Assembly.
The Speaker and his entourage later joined the celebrant to cut the birthday cake and presented a giant congratulatory card which were presented by the office of the Speaker.
On the entourage of the Speaker to Rep. Salams office were the Chairmen of House Committees on defence, Pensions and judiciary as well as a few other members of the House of Representatives.
It will be recalled that Rep. Bamidele Salam marked his birthday with a praise programme and visit to orphanages in Osun State on the 1st of October, 2020.
