Kwande Council Chairman Mobilizes Resident For February’s Sanitation Exercise

The Caretaker Chairman of Kwande Local Government Area, Rev. Fr. Mark Teryila Hule, has commended his people for trooping out to participate in the February 2024 sanitation exercise.

The council boss however, attributed the success of the exercise to an enlightenment Kwande local government introduced through the Taskforce on Environmental Sanitations since the inception of his tenure.

Rev. Fr. Hule, who was speaking to newsmen in Adikpo, headquarters of the local government area shortly after the exercise, emphasised the need to maintain a healthy environment so as to rid Kwande of diseases that could result from dirty environments.

“This month’s sanitation exercise witnessed a massive turn out and we want to appreciate all residents of Kwande most especially Adikpo town for making it a success,”

“There was so much compliance in many parts of the town…you could see for yourselves that it was a huge success, ” he said.

The Council Helmsman further used the ocassion to thank the Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia PhD, for reintroducing monthly sanitation in the State, stressing that the exercise has rekindled the cleanliness culture which a typical Benue person is known for.

Chairman of Environmental Sanitations Taskforce Mr Ikpila Akaa, Chairman of Adikpo Market Committee Mr. Ikyenge Orbunde, Security Officer of the Local Government Mr. Kor Cornelius Tyoapine , amongst others, also participated in the exercise.
