The National Chairman of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Alhaji Muhammed Musa Bagana, has promised to take the party to a higher level despite the activities of an impostor parading himself as the National Chairman of the party.

He stated this during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Kaduna on the 21st of November 2023.

Bagana thanked the Kaduna State Chairman and members of the party in the State for their resilience in keeping faith with the party despite the challenges posed by the impostor, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, parading himself as the National Chairman of the party.

The Chairman informed members that the party is still battling for recognition by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) despite the court order from the Federal High Court, dated 20th May 2023, in Abuja.

“We, therefore, call on INEC to kindly revisit our appeal for the execution of the judgment of the Federal High Court, whose execution has not been stayed, by the Federal High Court or proceedings of the Court of Appeal.”

The leadership of the Party, through the National Chairman, Alhaji Muhammed Musa Bagana, however, drew attention to the general public that Yusuf Mamman Dantalle is not only a defiant party member but also fraudulently misused his office as the interim National Chairman since registration in 2018, holding onto office without conducting congresses or a convention to democratically elect leaders of the party at all levels.

“This attracted the wrath of some party faithful who went to court to obtain the judgment to reposition the party to credibility and purposeful leadership.”

“The party also petitioned the FCT Commissioner of Police to report his fraudulent activities, especially receiving nomination fees of candidates into his account instead of the party’s account. This he attested by presenting his personal Bank statement. Unfortunately, the party has not received any feedback from the police on the matter.

“Similarly, we wish to inform the Inspector General of Police of the pending petition since 2021 addressed to the DIG and FCT Commissioner of Police in respect to Yusuf Mamman Dantalle who defrauded the party of the sum of 17m (Seventeen Million Naira), which was paid into his account by the candidate instead of the party’s account.

“Quite recently too, we realized that the fraudulent act of Yusuf Mamman Dantalle is not only centered around the misuse of office but extends to being a security risk, as he is also accused of illegal possession of firearms, which is a case between him and the Kogi State government. This case is in the Kogi State Federal High Court, Lokoja.

“His action has not only impeded the growth of the party but has caused the party public embarrassment, especially to the personalities that are members of the party. By extension, it has denied the citizens of credible leaders that could have emerged as flag bearers of the party, presented by the authentic leadership of the party put in place by the Board of Trustees. As ordered by the earlier court order mentioned above, they were not recognized by INEC to be uploaded on their portal as candidates. Rather, they uploaded candidates submitted by Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, whom he used as tools for trading with candidates for other political parties.

“This was evidenced in his lost battle in the Supreme Court, where he challenged the election of the president, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, held in February 2022.

“This information is provided to attest to the dubious character of Yusuf Mamman Dantalle as a citizen, not to talk of him as a leader,” he said.
