The Permanent Secretary, of Kaduna State Ministry of Health, Dr Aisha Abubakar Sadiq, has said that for women to be financially included in the affairs of the State, they must exhibit the right behaviour.

She asserted this during a panel session at a dialogue meeting in commemoration of the International Women’s Day, organised by the Kaduna Social Investment Programme Agency (KADSIPA,) in collaboration with Save the Children International (SCI,) held in Kaduna, yesterday.

According to the Permanent Secretary,  while women agitate for change, there is a need for them to behave like the change they desire to see in society.

She opined that the reason women tend to fail sometimes is because they are not united, loyal and supportive to each other.

The Executive director also tasked women not to be barriers to the success of others, adding that “success is not you or about you, it is when you come back and see evidence of the lives you have touched and the women you have helped.”

While appealing for more support from the State and other partners, she also encouraged women to step up and learn skills that will increase their value and build a good future for themselves.

“Please understand that for you to be included in any system, you need to include your sisters. When you are outside, look around for other Women, don’t celebrate your being the only female in any organisation or office.”

“Do not agitate for financial inclusion and encourage others to abuse your sisters.”

“Let us also exhibit the behaviour for financial inclusion. Learn to support each other and know that you don’t have to destroy your sister to progress.”

Speaking also, the committee Chairman of, the Financial Inclusion and Literacy Committee in Kaduna State, Mr I. T Mohammed, in his goodwill, described financial inclusion as a gateway to bring people to life which is why women need to be included in the financial system of the State.

While appreciating the efforts of the organisers, he pledged the support of the committee in ensuring that women receive more investment to progress in the State.

“When you make an analysis, Women are mostly excluded for so many reasons, jealousy, envy and others. Women in the north suffer these barriers mostly because the men are naturally jealous. So anybody coming to the north to make a positive change, please know you are in the right place.”

“I congratulate the organisers for their support and we promise to support them in any way we can.”

Also, Executive Director, of Persons with Disabilities Risikat Muhammed, has said that for Women to be they must change their mindset from a negative view to a positive one if they want to be financially Included in the State affairs.

According to her, women who desire to be at the top must stand up to the challenges that hinder them and stop underestimating their abilities as game changers in society.

Speaking on Financial Inclusion, she noted that most women have great ideas that can help them become financially independent but limit themselves by buying the belief that they are weak.

While sharing her story of the discrimination she suffers as a person with disability she encouraged women to utilise the opportunities they have from the State, Nation and other Organisations to build the life they want.

The Executive director also tasked the women to not be barriers to the success of others, adding that “success is not you or about you, it is when you come back and see evidence of the lives you have touched and the women you have helped.”

“financial inclusion starts with the mind. The discrimination and challenges will always be there, it is what we face daily but choosing to be successful, is a thing of the mind,” she concluded.
