Kwande Council Boss Flag Off Community Based Environmental Sanitation Exercise

The Caretaker Chairman of Kwande Local Government Council, Rev. Fr. Mark Teryila Hule earlier today, 25th January 2024, flagged-off the Kwande Community Based Environmental Sanitation Exercise in Adikpo, in line with his administration’s desire to keep Kwande Clean.

Rev. Fr. Teryila Hule had promised to initiate a community based environmental sanitation exercise across the entire Kwande LGA as one of the cardinal programmes of his administration, today the Caretaker Chairman, alongside the Chairman of Environmental Sanitations Taskforce Mr. Ikpila Akaa, President of Igbo Community and other principal officers of the council flagged off the exercise.

The Caretaker Chairman explained that the sanitation exercise was initiated as part of his moves to return Kwande to it glory days.

He further declared that this initiative will now be a routine exercise in Kwande as every Saturday morning will be set aside for sanitation,

“We will be visiting specific communities every sanitation day to carry out similar exercise”. A clean Kwande is what we are advocating for.” he added.

The Caretaker Chairman thanked the Environmental Sanitations Taskforce led by the Chairman, Mr. Ikpila Akaa, for turning up for the flag off exercise while calling on the people of Kwande to replicate same in their respective environments.

According to the Council helmsman, the people of Kwande need to be constantly reminded of the need to maintain a healthy environment to ward off contagious diseases from their respective communities.
