Speaking during a visit of Womenovate’s representatives to the Dangote Group’s office in Abuja, Senior Advisor to the Group President of the conglomerate, Fatima Wali-Abdurrahman, said women play a key role in the development of the engineering profession around the world.

As an Architect herself, the Advisor, Special Projects and Strategic Relations said the Dangote Group provides opportunities for women in STEAM to enable them to play a pivotal role in the development of the Nigerian economy.

She said the company was partnering with Womenovate to encourage women to grow their capacities in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture and Mathematics).

One such initiative is EWCP- Enriched Women Community Program aimed at equipping 5000+ women and young girls with digital skills that will allow them to thrive in society, “she said.

She said the Dangote Gender Based Accelerator Program has helped in promoting and fostering innovation and diversity within the tech sector and supported female-led start-ups and entrepreneurs contributing to the economic growth and development of not only Nigeria but the West African region.

According to her, through the partnership with the Dangote Group, Womenovate has been able to deliver impact on the Women in Technology and Engineering (WITE) Project & Scholarship Fund, the Global Learning Exchange Platform (GLEP) and the Global Learning Exchange Platform (GLEP).
