Tourism: Group Seek Collaboration With Turkish Government To Promote Tourism In Nigeria.

A major tourism stakeholder has expressed optimism that the security situation in the country would improve so that the gains of tourism can be harnessed in no distant future

Against this backdrop, group under the aegis of Skal International has seek to collaborate with the government of Turkey to promote tourism in Nigeria.

Speaking at the induction and presentation of certificates to it’s new members, the President of Skal International and Chief Executive Officer of Orit Travel and Tours, Julie Tongrit said the gesture is to help Nigerians learn to do the right things that would promote Tourism, as according to her,

“Turkey is one of the destination that you can go and you will want to go.”

“Nigeria partnering with Turkey, can help us both, we can develop each other, as you are aware, Nigeria is struggling with tourism but I can assure you we are going to learn from Turkey because we are still learning how to go about it to get to that level where people can come from every part of the world to holiday here in Nigeria”.

She further stressed on the security challenges in the country while saying, “security is not unique with Nigeria, a lot of other countries we visited have security issues, but Nigeria is so peculiar because it has been overwhelming, but if you talk of security, there is no where you go that you do not find security challenges, but we are hoping that with time the security challenges will reduce”.

She further called on Nigerian government to provide necessary infrastructure need by tourists to enjoy holiday in the Country.

“Every government has policies and rule and regulations, so on the part Nigerian government, we are aware they have a few challenges which are not something that can not be sorted”.She said.

On his part part, the Ambassador to Turkey in Nigeria, who doubles as the special guest of honour at the occasion, Ahmed Melih Ulueren noted that the partnership will provide an opportunity for Turkey to invite Nigerians to Turkey to enjoy historical nature gifts of Turkey, According to him,he observed that the relationship between Nigeria and Turkey are improving on daily process, as he was at the occasion to contribute to the process.

The Ambassador to Turkey in Nigeria, Ahmed Melih Ulueren is special guest of honour at the occasion.
