There is no more faction in Akwa Ibom’ — Sen. Ita declares

Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Ita Enang, has on Tuesday declared that the ruling All Progressives Congress is no longer entertaining faction in the state.

Enang made the declaration when he storm the party headquarters in Abuja, to pick his expression of interest and nomination forms to contest for the gubernatorial seat in Akwa Ibom State.

Sen. Ita who was the first among other aspirants to purchase the party nomination form at the party’s national Secretariat Abuja, said:There is no more faction in Akwa Ibom APC.

“All the interest have sank into one family and the family is All Progressives Congress APC under the leadership of president Muhammadu Buhari and the national chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu.

“We will conduct the contest under one leadership in one venue with one candidate and one winner will emerge in the gubernatorial, senatorial, house of representatives, and house of assembly elections. We will come up with one candidate each, he added.

He said: “I feel elated and I appreciate the national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the organizing secretary and all the national officers for the seamless manner and the well organized manner they have handled the sales of forms and in making sure that at every stage and in every state they have ensured that their is amity and unity and thus far through out the processes of the campaign, nomination, contest and contact with the delegates have been peaceful and handled like a family affair. I want to say I feel elated for the processes.

When asked what he will bring to the table for Akwa Ibom people, Ita said:”I will bring to the table accountability, change in the mode of doing things, in the manner with which we generate funds in the state and the national level attracting and working more with federal agencies to be able to bring development to the state and giving attention to agriculture, education and declaring emergency on the development of the youth and human infrastructures.
