SOKAPU Central Executive Committee lifts  suspension of its President

The Central Executive Committee (CEC)  of the Southern Kaduna People Union (SOKAPU), has  accepted the immediate lifting of the suspension of the President of the Union Mr Awemi Dio Maisamari  and urged  him to resume full duties as the substantive President of SOKAPU with effect from 1st February, 2023.

This was contained in a statement by SOKAPU Spokesman Luka Binniyat and made available to the media in Kaduna on 2nd February, 2023

The statement stated that CEC deliberated on a letter of appeal for reconciliation dated 21st January, 2023 received from the President of SOKAPU, Mr Awemi Dio Maisamari who was suspended from office by the CEC on 13th December, 2023

The statement added that. During the meeting, the President made a genuine appeal for reconciliation to resolve the differences between him and the CEC in the interest of SOKAPU and Southern Kaduna.

“After highlighting their concerns and listening to the responses of the President, members of the CEC resolved as follows:

It is in the best interest of the CEC and Southern Kaduna as a whole that SOKAPU amicably resolves its internal disagreements with immediate effect.

“The motion for the immediate lifting of the suspension of the President was moved, seconded and unanimously adopted.

Based on resolution No. 2, Mr Awemi Dio Maisamari resumes his full duties as the substantive President of SOKAPU with effect from 1st February, 2023.

“The President shall convene necessary meetings to address very pressing issues concerning the Union and Southern Kaduna in the shortest possible time.

“We therefore call on our members and the general public to give the President and our great Union the usual support and cooperation in the discharge of their duties”
