Senate wants Kaduna airport named after Kyari

The Senate on Wednesday asked the Federal Government to rename the Kaduna International Airport after a former Military Governor of North Central State, Brig.-Gen. Abba Kyari.

The decision was taken following a motion sponsored Senator Baba Garbai from Borno Central. The motion was supported by all the senators present at the plenary.

The Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, who presided over the plenary, said, “Brig.-Gen. Abba Kyari is a man who lived a life of patriotism.”

Ekweremadu added that Kyari’s contributions to unity, peace and progress of this country were legendary.
