Police deploy another unit to tackle bandits in Zamfara

Police have deployed another unit to Magami village in Maradun local government in Zamfara to tackle rampaging bandits, who again on Saturday, killed some persons.

The Police Command in Zamfara said unit comprises Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) and the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS)

A statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Mohammed Shehu in Gusau on Sunday said the personnel would complement efforts of the police and other security operatives already on ground.

While condoling families of the deceased who were killed by the bandits, Shehu said the additional team had since arrived the area and had joined in the trail of the attackers.

He added that all security agencies in the state would continue to work jointly until lasting peace was attained.

NAN also reports that the burial of those killed was witnessed by the acting governor, Alhaji Sanusi Rikiji, security chiefs in the state, traditional rulers and other sympathizers on Sunday afternoon.
