NIPC boss hands over after five-year tenure

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, Yewande Sadiku, on Friday handed over her position to Emeka Offor after a five-year tenure. Offor will function as the Acting Executive Secretary, NIPC.

The handing over ceremony was held at the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment and supervised by the Minister of State, Maryam Katagum.

The spokesperson for the commission, Daniel Awurum, confirmed the development to our correspondent in Abuja on Sunday.

He said, “Yewande handed over on Friday to Emeka Offor at the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment. She completed her tenure on Friday and handed over peacefully.”

In an interview cited on the official website of Nairametrics, the outgoing NIPC boss said she was proud of her achievements during her tenure.

Offor started his career in the banking industry at the then Diamond Bank where he later became the head of treasury. 

Before he joined NIPC, he was a Senior Management Executive at Zenith between 1999 and 2013.

Since he joined NIPC, he has headed six different departments at various periods.

He has been Director, Strategic Communications; Director, Investment Promotion; Director; Investment Facilitation and Incentives Administration; Director, National Competitiveness and Policy Advocacy; Director Human Resources Development and Director, Real Sector.

Offor, has an MSc in Corporate Governance from Leeds Beckett University, Leeds, United Kingdom, and an MBA from the University of Lagos amongst other qualifications and certifications. PUNCH
