Nigeria’s Mayowa Nicholas debuts on Victoria’s Secret runway
Mayowa Nicholas has made her debut on the Victoria Secret runway at the fashion show held in New York.
She becomes the 2nd Nigerian to walk the prestigious and most coveted fashion show in history after supermodel, Oluchi Orlandi, on Thursday night.
Mayowa shared the stage with major names like Adrianna Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Jasmine Stookes, Gigi hadid, Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner and more.
Just four years into her career, Nicholas is also the first Nigerian model to star in a Dolce & Gabbana, Saint Laurent and Calvin Klein campaigns.
She has also worked with high-profile designers like Prada, Miu Miu, Versace, Chanel, Michael Kors and Oscar de la Renta.
Sharing photos from her dressing room on her Instagram page, Mayowa said, “What a day! Beyond thrilled for you guys to watch the show. Today was a moment to remember not only did I get to walk with the most beautiful and powerful women, but my one and only inspiration (my mom) got to watch me in the audience living this dream.
To all the girls reading this, I hope you feel represented and know that your dreams are valid as long as you’re alive and ready to work hard in achieving them.”
