Nigerian Army Set to Conduct Exercise Sahel Sanity

… Moves NADCEL to Kastina

The Nigerian Army is set to conduct a major exercise nickname Exercise Sahel Sanity in Kastina state to address banditry and other security challenges.

The Army authority has also moved the initial Nigerian Army Day Celebration to Kastina state, which was initially scheduled to hold in Jos Plateau state of Nigeria.

This is coming after an intensive closed door meeting of all Principal Staff Officers, General Officers Commanding and Field Commanders with the Chief of Army Staff, Gen Tukur Buratai at the Army Headquarters in Abuja on 22 June 2020.

In a close the closed door meeting by the top Officers of the Army, the meeting was aimed at intending it’s tactics to war against north west banditry as well as the myriad of other security challenges across the country.

At the end of the meeting the acting director of Army Public Relations, Col Sagir Musa briefed Journalists that the meeting discussed on wide ranging security matters, the state of counter terrorism and other internal security operations in Nigeria and the necessity for Commanders, Officers and men to redouble their efforts and ensure that all security threats in the country are effectively checkmated.

The COAS, Gen Buratai, directed all Commanders, GOCs, Officers and men of the Nigerian Army to ensure that the charge given by President Buhari must be fully implemented so as to speedily crush the Boko Haram Terrorists and other security threats facing the country.

“The criminals and their collaborators and sponsors must be exposed, flushed out and destroyed.” Gen Buratai was quoted to have stated.

It was also revealed that the Nigerian Army has commenced major reorganization of her operations for optimal performances. He charged all commanders to lead the charge of being out in the field to effectively oversee the operations.

“There is no time for complacency, no time for excuses and there will be no tolerance for shortcomings or failures, the situation must be reversed immediately.” The Chief of Army Staff was said to have stated.
