NBCC seeks Collaboration with Nigerian Army

The President Nigerian Bangladashi Chambers of Commerce (NBCC), Navy Captain Usman Hamidu (Rtd) has called on the leadership of the Nigerian Army to collaborate with his organisation to harness all possible areas of collaboration for the betterment of both organisations

Captain Hamidu presented his mission statement when he led the delegation of NBCC members to the Nigerian Army headquarters in Abuja.

According to him, the aim of the visit was to explore mutually beneficial areas of collaboration bordering on textile development, Agriculture ,pharmaceutical services, ship building, business development,amongst others.

Hamidu said, Bangladesh has many explorable areas such as ship building, Agricultural facilities, textile industry amongst others that if properly tapped into, it would be of great benefit to the NA and the country.

He explained that Bangladeshi Agriculture evolution is very successful in that the Bangladesh government has engaged in a proper and a standardised research and development system.

He further stated that, because of informal transaction of Bangladeshi businesses and bringing confidence and more assurance in the minds of people as to dealing with genuine businesses, the idea and the decision of creating a platform know as Nigerian Bangladeshi Chambers of Commerce for business to thrive was realised.

He therefore sought for the considerations of Gen. Buratai to becoming the patron of NBCC.

In his response, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS),Lt. Gen Tukur Buratai assured the delegation that all the areas of possible collaboration are well noted, expressing his belief that such collaboration will have a far reaching and unprecedented benefits to not just the military but the country at large.

Gen. Buratai explained that all possible areas of partnership brought by NBCC will bring more benefits to the NA expressing hope that NBCC will collaborate in producing both quality and quantity drugs with lesser cost.

He also said, even though the Nigerian Army’s uniform is domesticated, if NBCC could offer a quality one with lower prices, NA would patronise them.

In the area of war ship building ,COAS acknowledged that Bangladesh are known internationally for the manufacturing of quality war ships, with a lower price, the area NA will also consider to partner NBCC including agriculture development and barracks investment initiative .

“Our farm and ranches in Giri can boast of 800 herds of cow. We have many other ones across the country.

“We look forward for more avenue to partner in areas that would further advance the course of agricultural development in Nigeria in line with the NA’s desire to contribute positively in this regard”. he said.

Gen. Buratai was represented at the occasion by the Chief of Policy and Plans, Nigerian Army Lt. Gen. Lamidi Adeosun.

The event was attended by top military officers and some key officials of NBCC, including the journalists.
