MTN wins award, launches partnership with companies
In recognition of its commitment to regular payment of levies, MTN has won the award for ‘Industry Regulators Compliance with the National Information Technology Development Fund Levy’ at the 2018 National Information Technology Development Agency eNigeria Conference.
The company said the recognition was another testament to its commitment to best practice and compliance.
While expressing MTN’s delight at the award, Corporate Relations Executive, MTN Nigeria, Tobechukwu Okigbo, said, “It’s an honour to be recognised for our compliance. MTN Nigeria has always and will continue to strive for excellence by all standards. We do not take such awards lightly as they are recognition that the work we do is acknowledged and this motivates us to work even harder, especially in complying with regulations.”
Meanwhile, the company says it has launched a Partner Programme Initiative, tagged ‘MTN Fusion’ to broaden the business landscape in Nigeria and add value to its customers.
MTN Nigeria’s Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Lynda Saint-Nwafor, said the company believed in collaborating with companies that share similar interests with it.
She said, “MTN knows that we cannot be the subject matter expert in every field in ICT. Thus, we believe strongly in partnering with other like-minded companies. We are building a vibrant ecosystem of partners that share our ethos and values to empower SMEs, drive efficiencies for large enterprises and work with the public sector to improve citizens’ engagement.”
Also, the company, in a separate statement, said it recently hosted content creators to a digital conference and awards ceremony in Lagos to create a platform for aspiring content creators to interact with some of the best Nigerian content creators, including filmmakers like Kunle Afolayan and Tope Alake and popular animator, Erem Emeka, aka House of Ajebo.
There was also presentation of awards and cash prizes to winners of a competition organised during the conference.
