Make Optimum Use Of Newly Acquired Skills: DEPOWA Urges Beneficiaries.

As part of efforts to fulfill its mandate as well as give succor to the wives of the fallen heroes and as well drive Small and Medium-scale Enterprises, MSMEs in Nigeria, the Defence and Police Officer’s Wives Association, DEPOWA, has graduated about 40 trainees in the 7th batch of its Skill Acquisition Training.

However ,the beneficiaries who were trained in skills sets ranging from fashion design, make-up artistry, catering and hotel management among others, were at their graduation presented with starter kits as well as cash support of 60,000 naira to kick start their businesses.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, DEPOWA President, Omobolanle Olonisakin beckoned on the beneficiaries to use the skills acquired to improve their quality of living.

She also charged the graduands to make judicious use of the starters packs.

Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonosakin, represented by the Chief of Defence Administration, A.O Ibrahim, commended the association, while also calling on the graduands to make the best use, out of what they have learnt.

Out of the 40 beneficiaries, were 16 widows as well as 5 vulnerable youths.

Some highlights of the event includes the presentation of starter kits to beneficiaries, exhibition of their works, fashion parade as well as drama presentation among others.
