The dominance of Real Madrid has led to Los Blancos winning the La Liga championship. While the team is stacked with stars, not everyone was able to play a significant amount of time on the field. One of these players who are speculated to leave the club is Lucas Vazquez.

The lack of minutes on the field has been noticeable for the Real Madrid faithful and may indicate that Vazquez might not have room in the club anymore. Given how the 29-year-old has been fielded as a backup right-back to the likes of Dani Carvajal, the two-time UEFA Supercup winner has been underutilized. With Rodrygo Goes suiting up for the team, Vazquez has found himself out of the usual rotation.

Per The Real Champs, Vazquez shared that he wants to stay in Madrid but he understands how the nature of the sport works. If an opportunity rises for Vazquez to transfer to the Premier League, he’ll keep his door open for the chance to move to England.

The lack of time on the field shouldn’t discredit the abilities that Vazquez posses as he’s proven to be a winner under Zidane’s system. Out of the 18 La Liga appearances he suited up for this season, 10 of those were off the bench. In his overall stint with Real Madrid, he’s proven what he can do in 205 games as he’s scored 24 goals and tallied 46 assists. This stretch also includes three consecutive Champions League titles for Real Madrid.

The manner of how Vazquez dictates the pace on the field would benefit any team he signs with. Although he’s only had minimal opportunities this year, he’s more than capable of facilitating the offense of the club well. During his overall career, he’s averaging 25.7 key passes per game with a pass success rate of 83.2%.

The consistent performance of Zidane’s star players helped the veteran manager notch his 11th trophy for the club. The tactical mindset of Zidane coupled with his team’s trusty roster of puts Los Blancos in a position to dominate in years to come. It will be interesting to see where Vazquez’s future lies and if he will still be part of Real Madrid’s success moving forward.
