LASA Fever Epidemic : Health Workers Advised On Protective Raiment

A Board Member of the Reach Care Foundation, Dr Nandul Durfa has advised the health workers to take precautionary measures in orders to stay alive.

In a press released signed by Dr. Durfa who gave the advised recently while briefing newsmen in his Gwarinpa office in Abuja, charged the health workers to be cautions of their health and that of their patients nor to be infected with Lassa fever and other diseases.

The advice is coming on the heels of the of lassa fever and other diseases in the country and beyond.

He opined that Nigerian Health workers should take advantage of the new “Veslex protective Apparel” which is a fabric used in hospitals in USA which has proven to be highly repellent fluid barrier, durable antimicrobial which is effective against a board spectrum of organisms and posses superior technology that also work moisture away from the body to ensure wearers comfort.

Dr Durfu stated further, that vertex has just been introduced into Nigeria in order to curtain the menace of exposure of health workers to infections in the cause of performing their duties.

He stressed further that all the Ministry of Health and other related health institutions across the country should take advantage of the product to avoid fire brigade approach.

Nandu pointed out that vestex has proven in a clinical setting to reduce the acquisition and retention of contaminants in clothing, adding that vestex has lower level of microbial on the garments than on the hand.
