Gombe NYSC expects 1,750 for batch B Stream 1

National Youth Service Corps says no fewer than 1,750 prospective corps members are expected in Gombe State for Batch B Stream 1, which begins on Tuesday, 27th July, 2021.

According to a statement signed on Friday on behalf of the state coordinator, Ada Imoni, which was made available by Margaret Dakama, Head of Press and Public Relations, the state has made provision for 1,750 prospective corps members to report at its temporary orientation camp in Amada, Akko Local Government Area, from July 27th 2021.

Dakama revealed that the state would operate camping activities with greater emphasis on compliance with COVID-19 protocols.

The statement partly stated, “Gombe State is expecting 1,750 prospective corps members to report at NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp Amada, Akko Local Government Area.

“Following the confirmation of the Delta variant of COVID-19 and the rising number of infections in the country, camp participants are advised to come to camp fully prepared to abide by the rules and regulations of the camp by ensuring sustenance of Covid safety measures of regular use of the facemask, washing of hands under running water, use of alcohol based sanitiser, and observing social distancing among other things. With that in place, we can mitigate the risk of transmission in the camp , thereby keeping participants safe.”

The statement added, “While wishing prospective Corps members journey mercies to camp , you are advised to avoid night journeys and use designated motor parks to board vehicles at all times. The safety of corps members is the priority of NYSC Management.

“In the same vein, prospective Corps members must be ready to be dressed properly for all occasions and functions as leaders of tomorrow and role models to millions of youth in the country.”
