In a bid to ensuring a decent and comfortable accommodation for its personnel towards enhancing service delivery and professional performance, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Monday, 30 March 2020, commissioned 2 newly renovated blocks of 30 units 2-bedroom flats for Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCOs) at the NAF Base Kaduna.

A statement by Air Commdore Ibikunle Daramola, Director of NAF Public Relations and Information said, “The commissioning, which was performed by the Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command (AOC ATC), Air Vice Marshal Musa Mukhtar, on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, lends credence to the efforts of the current NAF leadership in bridging the accommodation gap in the NAF since 2015.

“Indeed, the level of infrastructural development in the Service in the last 4 and a half years, which include residential accommodation, messes, recreational facilities, schools and hospitals, amongst others, has been unprecedented.

“Aside the construction of new residential buildings to accommodate the large number of newly recruited personnel into the Service, the NAF has also taken steps to ensure that existing structures and dilapidated buildings in units across the Country were either remodeled or renovated for both aesthetic quality and enhanced functionality.

“The infrastructural renewal is aimed at boosting the morale of NAF personnel, who continually devote their lives to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Nation and sometimes pay the supreme price.

“With Monday’s commissioning, the NAF is steadily moving further towards total accommodation sufficiency.”
