Buhari’s minister resigns

The Minister of State for Environment, Ibrahim Usman-Jibrin, on Wednesday resigned his appointment.

This was made public soon after the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by Buhari ended in Abuja.

The FEC earlier held a valedictory session in honour of the former minister.

Usman-Jibrin is now the new Emir of Nasarawa in the Nasarawa Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, an appointment already made by the Nasarawa Emirate Council and approved by Governor Tanko Almakura.

Usman-Jibrin, by the new appointment, is the 13th Emir of Nasarawa.

The President had earlier congratulated the former minister, saying that he was a “wise choice and worthy successor.”

The President said, “His people will benefit immensely from his wealth of experience in the Ministry of Environment.”

Usman-Jibrin is the fifth minister to resign from Buhari’s administration.
