Ex-Military Administrator of Lagos State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has described as ‘a disgrace’ and a slap on the military, the Tuesday attack on the Nigeria Defence Academy, Kaduna, where two soldiers were killed and one other abducted.
Oyinlola, while featuring on a radio programme monitored on Rave Fm, in Osogbo on Wednesday, said although he had not got a full report of what happened, but noted that, if the security of such an organisation could be breached, Nigerians may have to resort to prayer.
The ex-Osun state governor, who expressed sadness over the attack, said, “That it happened at NDA is a total disgrace. Whatever may have happened, somebody has refused to do his work. It is a total slap on the face of the military.
“I have not gotten the detail of how it happened. If that kind of a thing could happen in such a place, then God helps all of us. I am sad that such happened having served in the military for 30 years.”
Reacting to insinuations that he was planning to contest the post of the national chairman at the next congress of the Peoples Democratic Party, Oyinlola, said he would only consider coming out for the position, if it was zoned to South West and if he was able to gather the support of stakeholders.
