By Lazarus Zakaa, Abuja.

The Primate of the Church of Nigeria( Anglican Communion), Archbishop Nicholas Okoh has urged the recently appointed Federal Ministers to see their new offices as an opportunity to provide the needed leadership towards addressing the many challenges bedeviling Nigerians.

The Primate gave the advice while speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the Dedication of the Remodeled Church Auditorium of the All Saints Military Church, Mogadishu Cantonment, Abuja.

Archbishop Okoh noted that having been chosen from amongst Nigerians, the ministers must therefore show they are intune with the needs of the people by ensuring that their decisions while in office meet the aspirations and yearning of Nigerians.

“The ministers are not coming from abroad, they are coming from Nigeria and that being the case they ought to know the minds of Nigerians. They ought to know where the shoes are pinching them and so address their minds with critical issues of leadership to bring about relief to the necessities of the people”.

He further appealed for the development of the right mental attitude amongst Nigerians in order to attain the unanimity of purpose required, to resolving the many challenges confronting the nation.

“The first thing is a condition of the mind. If we have a good condition of the mind, it will be possible to work together to resolve the issues. But if the foundation and the mind is not good, it will be difficult to have that unanimity of purpose needed to resolve the issues.

“I think that praying and getting the mind of God is important before we take the next step of working together and fixing the problems” he said.
