In the prevalence of the Corona Virus (COVID-19) pandemic, Representative Bamidele Salam has enjoined the Muslim community and his constituents to celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir festival with deep appreciation to Allah but with great caution and strictly in line with the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) protocols to avoid escalating the prevalence of the deadly virus.

Salam who represents Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo federal constituency of Osun state in the House of Representatives said it was important to have a low key celebration and stay safe than to have a wild celebration that will lead to unforeseen circumstances.

This was contained in his Eid-el-Kabir festival message released by his media aid Lubem Gena in Abuja.

While appreciating the socio-economic challenges posed by the ravaging pandemic, Salam said, as much as the Covid-19 has caused an untold hardship on the economy of individuals and the country at large, hope is still not lost as Allah who knows all will surely see humanity through the pandemic.

He added that the low key nature of this years celebrations must not take away a deeper appreciation of what Allah has done in the personal and communal life of the people.

“I am pleased to send my best wishes to you and join you in deeply appreciating Allah for sparing our lives to witness another celebration of God’s reward for faithfulness as exhibited by the Prophet Ibrahim, (May Allah bless his memories).”

” We are not in anyway better than thousands of others who were here last year but no more now. It is by Allah’s mercies and we must not take it for granted”

“I promise to remain focused on delivering on the mandate of my office and continuously ensure that I work closely with you in ensuring that the lives of the greater majority in our constituency are positively affected.

“On behalf of myself and my entire family, kindly accept our compliments and best regards at this season of Eid-el Kabir. May Allah in his infinite wisdom bountifully reward your rare sacrifice, endurance and perseverance which have accounted for the impressive journey we have made so far. May He also preserve us all to witness many of this season in years to come. Barka Da Sallah”, he emphasized.

The lawmaker further enjoined people of different faiths to live and work together in greater harmony as both Islam and Christianity accord great respect for the Prophet Ibrahim whose love, perseverance and sacrifice led to the Id el Kabir festival.

Rep. Salam urged for prayers for Nigeria and its leadership as commanded by the Almighty Allah stressing that the purpose of God for any Nation can only be accomplished by God fearing leadership at all levels of governance.
