The National Youth Leader of the APC caretaker committee, Barr. Ismail Ahmed, has called on political office holders, stakeholders and government appointees to set aside time for holding meetings with members of the party in their various localities.
Barr. Ahmed made the call on Monday shortly after his meeting with the 36 States youth leaders of the party in Abuja.
He said that, it should be conventional as already provided in the party’s guideline that everybody is expected to go back and hold wards meetings periodically.
He also said that, the meeting was to come up with strategy and method in the party would galvanized young people into the fold of the party in order to reassured every member of the party in every poling units, Political wards, local government in all the 36 states and FCT and also the 6 geo political zones that the party have done well in the last five years of governance.
He also said they want to remind everyone that on 31st July, APC was officially registered as a political party.
According to him it is the first time in the history in the Sub – Saharan where 10 political parties came together and mage and became one political party and two years later, toppled an incumbent government and have been ridding on.
He said “the narrative have been changed, we are putting our resources together so that we can begin the scuttle for hard work so that we can redeem the party from the ground to the top.
“Political parties are suppose to be built from the ground to the top, all political parties like they say is local and that is why we assembled the 36 state leaders together in order to make sure that we are able to move the party forward”.
Barr. Ahmed explained that given the youths quoter as young people, if the party has 15million members, the young people can be assured of 11million members.
“So in all intent and proposes, we owe the majority of the party and it’s only fair due to the youths wing of the party, that is why we are here to help built the party from the ground to the top”. He said.
